Idaho passed abortion ban after about six weeks

On Monday March 16, 2022 Idaho passed a similar abortion ban as Texas.  The Idaho House voted 51-14 with no Democratic support.

The Idaho Abortion Ban

The state Senate had already approved the bill, which now goes to Gov. Brad Little, who is likely to sign it. It allows family members to sue doctors who perform abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, before most people know they are pregnant. The bill provides a minimum reward of $20,000 plus legal fees, compared to minimum $10,000 and legal costs under the Texas law. Aid Access will continue to support women living in Idaho to access abortion pills.
