What are hCG hormone levels during pregnancy?

The hCG hormone (aka The Pregnancy Hormone) is produced in the body during pregnancy. Your hcg hormone levels can be measured using either blood or urine.

Urine HCG testing will not give a number but be positive or negative. Blood HCG testing can give you a specific number. HCG levels typically double every 2-3 days when pregnant and decrease after a miscarriage or abortion by half every 2-3 days. Checking blood HCG levels 2-3 days apart can be helpful in determining if you have a normal healthy pregnancy or if an abortion was successful.

After an abortion, when will hCG hormone levels return to normal?

Most people can expect their hCG hormone levels to return to a non-pregnant range within about 4-6 weeks after an abortion.
