Good to know:
- Ozempic slows down your stomach. Food and pills stay in your stomach longer. The first abortion pill (mifepristone) is swallowed. So your body might take it in a bit slower.
- The second pill works a different way. You do not swallow the second pill (misoprostol). You let it melt in your cheek, under your tongue, or in your vagina. That means a slow stomach does not affect it.
- Does it still work? There is no proof that Ozempic makes abortion pills unsafe or stops them from working. But pay attention to how you feel, especially if Ozempic makes you feel sick or throw up.
- Call your doctor or nurse if:
- you bleed very little or not at all, or
- you still feel pregnant after taking all the pills.
