Abortion pill laws and online access around the world

Low cost and no pills at no cost have been particularly beneficial for Black and Hispanic women, who make up the majority of US abortion patients and have an income below $25,000.

Recently published research showed that also in US states where abortion was banned after the Supreme Court decision, more than 3 times more women requested telemedical abortion service from Aid Access. 

However, telemedical abortion services do have their vulnerabilities. Research has shown that misleading Google search results and ads can lead to anti-abortion clinics instead of safe and reliable abortion services. Nonetheless, the overall trend towards more accessible and affordable medical abortion is positive, and advances in technology and policy are making safe and legal abortion a reality for more and more people around the world.
